My methods for getting the best detail photos on your wedding day!

My favorite way to begin photography coverage for my clients is to block out a chunk of time for your detail photos. Not only does this add fun, artistic images to your full gallery, helping you to remember all of the *little* things, and give you a new print for your hallway frames (perfect add-ins for a gallery wall!), but it also sets the rhythm for the day, helping me to get into the theme of your wedding by immersing myself in your aesthetic, from your invitations, to the tassel on your hotel DND tag.

Typically how this would work, is I arrive at the scheduled time and check in with the Bride (who is usually in hair & makeup at the time) and the Wedding Planner. After giving hugs & greetings, I collect the box the Bride created ahead of time containing whatever she gathered to be photographed (read below for examples). Then I will snoop around the space, picking up anything else that catches my eye! I'm on the look out for pops of color, texture, sentimental tokens, or items that may mark the specificity of the day or location. Then I use the time carved out in the schedule for detail photos to create art! An ideal amount of time is around 60 minutes, which allows for creative freedom and several vignettes. Fewer locations and variations can be accomplished in 30 minutes.
